Canoe Causey Reservoir - beautiful reservoir with three branches to explore. Nestled up at the top of the South Fork of the Ogden River, Causey Reservoir is a fascinating, cozy paddle for anyone looking for a nice day trip. The reservoir at 5,700-foot elevation with a smooth 140-acre area was formed by the creation of a dam. Much of the water comes from snowmelt that makes it a cool escape during hot summers. However, its most beautiful feature is its towering cliffs. Paddling down the walls of the canyons that climb to more than 100 feet allow a moment in quiet serenity.

Additionally, there are places to stop and hike. No powerboats are allowed so the calm water is only disturbed by the wind. Because it is at the end of a canyon, that can be frequent. In addition, the three different fingers of this small reservoir. In early Spring the put-in is a simple park and paddle. However, as summer drains the reservoir, a steep portage down a gravel-covered shore is required. Parking exists by the dam and near the Boy Scout camp. Paddling.com Trip Report
