Rentals (on your own) -

Harness: $5/day (BYU Outdoors Unltd); $17 (BYU Outdoors Unltd)

Helmet: $4/day (BYU Outdoors Unltd); $4/day (UVU Outdoor Adventure Center)

Water Canyoneering trip wetsuits REQUIRED. MUST have been on a previous canyoneering trip in the last 2 years to attend this trip. 

ITINERARY:

Itinerary -

Drive down Friday night (3 1/2 hr) - camp on  BLM land (cost - $15 per night)

Drive down Sat morning (3 1/2 hr)

9 am - Set up Shuttle- drop off one vehicle

9:30 am - Entrance Trailhead

10:00 am - Hike to first rappel

12:30 pm - Hike out

2 pm - Exit Trailhead

3pm - lunch in Moab

Arrive home - 7-8pm

DIRECTIONS: Geyser Pass Winter Trailhead, Moab

 From Moab drive south along Highway 191 towards Spanish Valley. Take Old Airport Road East until you reach La Sal Loop Road. Take La Sal Loop Road south, up into the mountains, eventually turning off onto Geyser Pass Road, a graded dirt road, suitabel for 2WD vehicles. Take Geyser pass road up just short of 3 miles til you reach a small parking lot and trailhead for Squaw Springs Trail. 

Pleiades: 38°28'23.2"N 109°17'21.8"W

ACTIVITY: 

Canyoneering Pleaides - Canyoneering Extreme. Difficulty 3C II swift water. Rappels: 4-6 max 70 ft. 3 hrs 1.7 mi. distance. Sandstone rappels. 

Hiking 0.5 mi to rappels. 

GEAR: 

Rappel device with ability to lock off and add  friction (ATS, Totem, Critter, Prana), locking carabiner, harness (can  rent), helmet (can rent), (NO COTTON) thin liner short sleeve shirt,  hiking pants, rain/windproof jacket, shoes with grip, headlamp, 2 L  water, 4-6 snacks + packed lunch, backpack, first aid kit, small knife,  sunscreen, sunglasses, hat
