Itinerary:
9-12 pm - set up and paint
Drive: I-15 north, west on American Fork Main st exit, Pioneer Crossing, left Saratoga Rd/2300 W, rt 7200 N, left Saratoga Rd, left Inlet Park. Trailhead (park in the north parking lot and take the dirt trail south, east of the paved trail south to Saratoga Springs hotsprings, and west of the metal fence. Hike about 5 minutes southeast to where the lake shore meets the Jordan River)
Activity:
Outdoor Painting - Park in the north parking lot and take the dirt trail south, east of the paved trail south to Saratoga Springs hotsprings, and west of the metal fence. Hike about 5 minutes southeast to where the lake shore meets the Jordan River. Set up chair and easel on the beach facing east.
Easy Landscape Painting Lesson -
1) Cover whole canvas in Burnt Sienna tone
2) Sketch landscape with light blue
3) Paint in midtones for sky, mountains, lake, and shore
4) Paint in dark tones for mountains, lake and shore
5) Paint in highlight tones for mountains, lake and shore
6) Foreground details
Gear: chair, easel or additional chair, 2 water bottles (one for dirty paint water - don't pour onto sensitive lake shore), acrylic paints, brushes, canvas board, paper towels (for cleaning brushes), paper plate or palate (for paint), plastic bag (for garbage), sunhat, sunscreen
