*This is a lottery event. You will be notified on June 15th if you got in. If you are on the waiting list, you will be notified as spots open up.

Itinerary -

Friday

6 am - Carpooling 

630-1pm - Drive (6 hr drive)

1 pm - Lee's Ferry 

1:30-3pm - Take shuttle boat with paddleboards upstream to below the Glen Canyon Dam

3-5pm - Paddle down the Colorado River to camp  6-8 miles (Check out Petroglyphs)

5-6pm - Make Camp below Horseshoe Bend

Sat

8 am - Breakfast

9 am - Break camp

9-10 am - Hike

1030-130 pm - Float to Lee's Ferry takeout 8-9 miles

2:30 pm - Horseshoe Bend National Park ($10 per car)

330-10 pm - Drive home

Directions - Lee's Ferry, Arizona 

Cost -  $30 National Park Pass for the Colorado River (per car?)

               $10 Horseshoe Bend (per car)

               $65 Boat Backhaul

Activity -Paddleboard Colorado River - Paddle 7-8 miles down the Colorado River from Glen Canyon Dam (towering cliffs/petroglyphs). Camp below Horseshoe Bend. Next morning, continue paddling the remaining 9 miles down to Lee's Ferry (wider, less cliffs, more exposed to sun)

Gear - Thin T-shirts, thin long-sleeve shirts, fleece, rain jacket, shorts or hiking pants, swimming suit, water shoes, running shoes or sandals, 2 L water bottles, snacks, small backpack/drybag, sunscreen, sunglasses, hat, first aid kit, Paddleboard (can rent), paddles(can rent), lifejackets(can rent)

Rent - BYU Outdoor - $30 paddleboard/day

UVU Outdoor Adventure Center - $20 paddleboard/day
