Youth Hike - Big Springs

*This is part of the Youth Summer Hikes Program running April-Sept. Open to all ages! We may cap the trip at 20 for safety, depending on the trip. Parents MUST attend with youth. Every youth is $5/mo or $20/summer. Venmo @mtmamas with youth name and age.

Itinerary

Trailhead - 10:00 am

Hike - 10:15am - 12:30 pm

Directions -  Big Springs Park - upper parkinglot, Provo Canyon

Activity - Hiking Big Springs Loop - 1-3 miles.  You get to a meadow in about 15-20 min. Then continued on, through the woods until about 1.5 miles where the trail meets the road. You can also head up from the south end of the parking lot, west, up the road and came to the meadow in about 20 min and then continued on the road until it met up with the trail at about 1.5 miles. Great place to turn around and make it a loop or you can continue on either trail for more miles.  Map of trail (longer version) and summer trail report. 

Gear - Hiking pants/shorts, synthetic T-shirt, long sleeve synthetic top, long sleeve fleece, light waterproof jacket, hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, backpack, 1 Liters water, 2-4 snacks, first aid kit, hiking boots/running shoes, whistle (for youth), paddleboards/kayaks/life jackets
