Big Springs Moonlight Snowshoe 2/27/21

A cup of cocoa and soup with a full moon make this snowshoe magical!

Drive: I-15, 800 N Orem, Provo Canyon, Vivian Park, drive south about 3 miles, rt to Big Springs park, drive to top parking lot (furthest west). Map to park

Activities:

Hike/Snowshoe Big Springs trails - 3 miles. Fast group started north of parking lot and crossed small bridge and headed west through the woods. You get to a meadow in about 15-20 min. Then continued on, through the woods until about 1.5 miles where the trail meets the road. The slow group headed up from the south end of the parking lot, west, up the road and came to the meadow in about 20 min and then continued on the road until it met up with the trail at about 1.5 miles. Great place to turn around and make it a loop or you can continue on either trail for more miles. This is where we stopped for hot cocoa/tea and soup, then turned around and came back through either the road or tree trail back. Map of trail (longer version) and summer trail report.

Fat Tire/Mt Bike - as far up the trails as you want to go.
