Kayaking - Little Grand Cyn, San Raphael Gorge (Intro Clinic)

*This is a lottery event. You will be notified on March 8th if you got in. If you are on the waiting list, you will be notified as spots open up.

(trip is limited to 12 people)

Itinerary:

Carpooling - 6 am (2 3/4 hr drive)

River Exit - 10 am

Shuttle drive to put in - 1030 am

Float river - 11-4pm (4-6 hr)

River Exit - 4pm

Drive Home 

Directions - Take out, San Raphael River 

 Put in, San Raphael River 

Cost: $35 pp for kayaks

Activity -

Kayak San Raphael River - 20 mile float with tight turns, muddy water. Best floated in an inflatable kayak. Road Trip Ryan Trip Report

Note - This river is only floatable for a few weeks in early summer when the cfs 150-500. Monitor water flow rates

Gear: thin T-shirt, thin long-sleeve shirt, rain jacket, shorts or hiking pants, swimming suit, running shoes or sandals - NO FLIP FLOPS, 2 L water in water bottle - NO CAMEL BAKS, 3-4 snacks plus lunch in gallon ziplock bag, dry bag, sunscreen, sunglasses, hat, first aid kit., waterproof phone case

Rent - BYU Outdoor - $25 single touring kayak/day

UVU Outdoor Adventure Center - $20 double kayak/day
