Rafting - Weber River (Guide Conf - Training)

Itinerary: 

Carpooling - 630 am 

Weber River Float Parkinglot - 800 am

Set up shuttle and instruction - 830 am

Float upper 1/3 of river - 900-1130 pm

Directions:  Weber River Float Parkinglot, Henefer, Weber River

Weber River Float Parking Lot -  Put in

Croyden Bridge-  Take out

Cost: $30 raft rental with life jacket

Activity:

Float Weber River -  Beginner Float. First 1/3 is Boulder Ally with lots of boulders to navigate then takeout at the bridge in Croyden (river left). Carry raft out and over bridge to river right. Snacks. Float second 1/3 past Devils Slide. Float last 1/3 under pileons and through class 3 rapid (ride it left) before takeout at Taggarts (river right)

Guiding Skills - Strokes: Front, Back, Sweeper, Side, modified J-stroke

Navigation: land raft on side of river, turn 360 in raft, navigate Class III rapid

Rescue: Pull someone into boat, throw rescue rope sucessfully

Set up: Set up and take down raft and gear

Gear: thin T-shirt, thin long-sleeve shirt, rain jacket, shorts or hiking pants, swimming suit, running shoes or sandals - NO FLIP FLOPS, 2 L water in water bottle with carabiner to attach to raft - NO CAMEL BAKS, 3-4 snacks plus lunch in gallon ziplock bag, dry bag, sunscreen, bug spray, sunglasses, hat, first aid kit., waterproof phone case
