Itinerary:
Training - 3-7pm
Directions: Echo Picnic area, American Fork Canyon
Cost: $6 day use fee or FREE with National Parks Pass
Activity:
Rappelling - Access rappelling sites by hiking behind large cliff on the south side of the picnic area. Hike around to the left and back of the wall. Moderate scramble up a rocky trail to the top. 3 bolted sites with 65 ft rappel. 2/3 way down there is an overhang.
Canyoneering Clinic - Learn how to canyoneer! Our awesome guide, Jeremy Pyne, will teach you the Core Skills from the American Canyoneering Association, including Logics and Safety, Leave No Trace, Rope and Equipment Care, Basic Knots, Intro to Anchors and Rigging, Signals/Communication, Climbing/Spotting/Hand Lines, Rappelling/Belaying/Self-Rescue skills.
Recertification:
3pm Station 1 - Rappelling - adding friction/locking off
4pm Station 2 - Knots
5pm Station 3 - Lecture/Info pass off
