Canyoneering Tier Drop, Not Tier Drop or U Turn - We will be getting a permit for 2 of the 3 canyons. All are in the same area in Arches NP.
Gear - Rappel device with ability to lock off and add friction (ATS, Totem, Critter, Prana), locking carabiner, harness (can rent), helmet (can rent), (NO COTTON) thin liner short sleeve shirt, hiking pants, rain/windproof jacket, shoes with grip, headlamp, 2 L water, 4-6 snacks + packed lunch, first aid kit, small knife, sunscreen, sunglasses, hat
Rentals (on your own) -
Harness: $5/day (BYU Outdoors Unltd); $17 (BYU Outdoors Unltd)
Helmet: $4/day (BYU Outdoors Unltd); $4/day (UVU Outdoor Adventure Center)
Itinerary - (can sleep over on BLM land as well)
430 am -Lehi carpool
5:00 am - Springville carpool
8 am - enter Arches NP
8:30 am - set up shuttle
9:00- 1pm -First Canyon
2-6pm - Second Canyon
7pm - Dinner Green River
8-11 pm - Drive home
