Cross Country Skiing - Bryce Canyon NP


Directions - Ruby's Inn Winter Adventure Center, Bryce Canyon.

Activity - Cross country skiing - skiing 1-2 mile loop (easy) on edge of Bryce Canyon! - morning

Snowshoe/hike -Navajo Loop & Queens Garden 2.9 mi (moderate) - afternoon


Cost - $35 per vehicle Bryce Canyon entrance fee; free if you have National Parks Pass

$15-22 Cross Country Skis/boots/poles (rent there, first come, first serve. *Preferred,

rent BYU or UVU night before as a 2 day rental.

$15-20 gas for driver

Gear - Cross-country skiis/poles/shoes (can rent at Bryce Cyn), gaiters (optional - can

rent), (NO COTTON) thermal top and bottom (synthetic yoga pants), wool socks or

just not cotton socks, snow pants (if it will be snowing, otherwise they get too hot), long

sleeve fleece, light waterproof jacket, gloves, hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, camelback

or regular back pack (with space remaining to shove clothes in when you get too

warm), 1 Liters water, 3-4 snacks +road trip snacks and such


Rentals - Cross Country Skis/poles/shoes: $7 adult (Bryce Cyn ); rent BYU or UVU night before as a 2 day rental.

Itinerary:

6 am - Carpool Lehi

630 am - Carpool Springville

945 am - arrive Bryce Cyn, Ruby's Inn Winter Adventure Center (Trailhead location)

10:00-12:00 pm - Cross Country Ski loop

1 pm - lunch at Ruby's Inn area

2pm- Hike/Ice Cleat/Snowshoe (conditions pending) Navajo Loop & Queen's Garden 3.3 mi (moderate)

6pm - Drive home/dinner drive thru on way home

10pm - home
