Slot Canyon Red Hollow 9/9/21

Short slot canyon outside Orderville, Utah. Great break on a road trip.

Activity -

Hike Red Hollow Canyon - 1.9 mile out and back trail through a hot, sandy riverbed to a cool, slot canyon. Dirt parking area is next to some buildings to the east and a horse corral to the south. Follow the trail south east past the horse corral and into the river bed. Follow the river bed about 15-25 min to base of the slot canyon. After about 10 min, there are a series of 3 10-15 ft obstacles with old handlines to scale. You can stem up the wall with assistance from the handlines. We used our own. Go as high as you feel comfortable. Trail Report.

Gear - Hiking pants, synthetic T-shirt, light waterproof jacket, hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, camelback or regular back pack with waist belt, 1-2 Liters water, 2-4 snacks, first aid kit, hiking boots/running shoes, 30 ft webbing, carabiner.
