Our awesome guide, Jeremy Pyne, taught us the Core Skills from the American Canyoneering Association, including Logics and Safety, Leave No Trace, Rope and Equipment Care, Basic Knots, Intro to Anchors and Rigging, Signals/Communication, Climbing/Spotting/Hand Lines, Rappelling/Belaying/Self-Rescue skills. Rappelling experience required in the last 2 years. This time we broke into 3 groups: lecture, knots and rappelling (women had to be able to add friction and lock off while rappelling).
