Directions -   Elkhart Cliffs Slot Canyon Trailhead , Mt Carmel Junction

Activity -

Canyoneering The Huntred (Elkhart Cliffs) - 1.5 mile out at back - Hike down to the exit of Dianas Throne/Elkhart Cliffs. The trail is on the north side of the wash from the exit trail of Dianas. Follow up to the right of the large cliffs to your left about 10 min climb. Behind the cliffs at the top you will see a large bolt. This is the entrance of the first rappel. Rope Wiki Trip Report

  • Rappel 1 - Bolt left, 25 ft twisted flute. Followed by 10 ft scramble and may need partner assist. Rock on right has a place to loop rope or webbing but not an anchor.

  • Rappel 2 - Bolt right, 2 tiers of 15 ft rappels each. Both have a 12 ft pinch point but you can go above or below. Rappel sideways and without packs is best. We ziplined packs through this section. Had ankle deep water

  • Rappel 3 - Bolt right, 15 ft. Ankle deep water

  • Rappel 4 - Bolt right, 20 ft

  • Rappel 5 - Bolts right, 50 ft. Large rope grooves

Hike out to car (same way you came in) - (15-20 min, 0.5 mi) walk west down river bed about 5 min, then turn left up sandy embankment onto dirt trail. About a 5 min hike up to the top of a sandy steep hill, then 10 min hike on moderate slope sandy trail. At dirt 4 wheel intersection, go straight, then left. Will reach car in about 5 min.

  • Bring VERY small packs or one guide pack that you zipline through rappel 2
