Activity:
Canyoneering Yankie Doodle Canyon (3AI) - 0.6 mile loop, dry. Canyon starts just a few minutes from the dirt parking area. Takes about 1 1/2 -3 hrs. First 2 rappels are at the beginning of the canyon, then a series of down-climbing obstacles 5-15 ft with and without bolts.
Rappel 1 - Slings on a tree, 20 ft (straight forward rappel)
Rappel 2 - 2 bolts on left, 70 ft (some slope at top and then simple drop)
Hike out (abt 20 min):
Continue down the canyon to where it opens up. The exit is the first reasonable location to hike out to the left up a sloping slick rock with moki steps. There is a worn trail and a tree with roots running along the left side of the slick rock you can easily climb up. Scramble up the slick rock and go right. Some scrambling to an easy trail to the road. Follow the road left to the trailhead. Road Trip Ryan Trip Report.
