Hiking - Grotto Falls, Payson Cyn 3/24/26

Sample Itinerary:

8:45 am - Carpooling

9:30 am - Meet at Trailhead

9:45-12 pm - Hike

Drive: Grotto Falls Winter Trailhead, Nebo Loop, Payson

Activitiy: 

Hiking Grotto Falls - 3.4 miles from winter trailhead. Hike up the Nebo Loop road and then hit the summer trail for the last bit. Trail can be icy in the spring. Several water crossings. Last one has a log bridge. All Trails Trip Report

Tips: 

• No microspikes were needed because all the snow had melted. Ground was dry except for the stream crossings where we used logs and rocks to cross. The flow was surprisingly higher than the recon.

• Grotto is such a beautiful spot and it was really nice that there was not any crowds. Walking the road wasn’t bad because there was no traffic as a result of the gate.
