Hiking/Micro Spikes - Donut Falls 4/27/21

The classic and etherial cave and waterfall. Not to be missed. Short hike with great reward! Best topped off with delicious donuts!

Drive: I-15 north, 2-15 east, 6200 S exit rt, left up Big Cottonwood Cyn to Trailhead

Activities:

Hike Donut Falls - 3.2 miles round trip (winter with gate closed - 0.5 mile paved road, 0.25 mi dirt/snow road to summer trailhead noted by bathroom), 1.5 miles round trip (summer - trail starts south of bathrooms, follow trail signs through forest. The gorge before the falls has high danger of rock fall or avalanche. Be aware of weather prior to hiking.) Best with donuts at the falls. Bathroom at the parking lot. Trail Report.

Gear: Snowshoes/micro spikes (weather permitting), waterproof boots, waterproof pants, long sleeve shirt, long sleeve fleece, light waterproof jacket, hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, camelback or regular back pack, 1-2 Liters water, 3-4 snacks (donuts) Sample Itinerary:

3 pm - meet at Trailhead

3-5 pm - Hike to Falls and back (shorter in the summer)
