Hiking - Silver Lake, American Fork Cyn, 8/21/26


Sample Itinerary:

Carpooling - 7 am

Trailhead - 8 am

Hike - 8:15 am -1 pm


Directions: Past Tibble Fork Reservoir, up dirt road to Silver Lake Trailhead (high clearance vehicle recommended) Silver Lake Trailhead


Cost: $10 or free with America the Beautiful pass


Activity: Silver Lake Trail is a 4.7 mile heavily trafficked out-and-back trail located near Alpine, Utah that features a lake and is rated as moderate. Start at the north end of Silver Lake Flats and wind your way uphill on a rocky dirt trail with several switchbacks. The trail will become steep. Finish on the south end of Silver Lake. All Trails Trip Report  Option to swim (aka cold plunge) in the lake when we get there as well.  So dress accordingly if you plan to get in.

Gear: Hiking pants, synthetic T-shirt, long sleeve synthetic top, long sleeve fleece, light waterproof jacket, hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, camelback or regular back pack with waist belt, 2-3 Liters water, 4-6 snacks, first aid kit, hiking boots/running shoes, trekking poles (optional), clothes for swimming (opt)
