Hiking - Wasatch State Park Nature Trail 9/8/22

Itinerary

Lehi - 9:00 am

Springville - 9:00 am

Trailhead - 10:00 am

Hike - 10:15am - 12:30 pm

Activity - Hiking Wasatch State Park Nature Trail: 2.5-mile loop trail near Midway, Utah. Generally considered a moderately challenging route. It takes an average of 1h 14min to complete. After, we ate lunch in Midway! This is a popular trail for birding, camping, and hiking, but you can still enjoy some solitude during quieter times of day. $10 day use permit required, which can be purchased there or at parkspass.utah.gov and select Wasatch Mountain State Park.

Gear - Hiking pants, synthetic T-shirt, long sleeve synthetic top, long sleeve fleece, light waterproof jacket, hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, camelback or regular back pack with waist belt, 2-3 Liters water, 4-6 snacks, first aid kit, hiking boots/running shoes, trekking poles (optional)

Extra Tips - Because there are numerous trails that intersect, using the AllTrails Navigator is recommended. It's also easiest to follow the right side of the loop, ending on the left. The trailhead is located on the north end of the parking lot, and the trail will take you through a campground, a golf course, and up into the foothills. Coming in the winter with snowshoes or in the spring when the water runs under the bridge crossings would also be a fun adventure!

Before this hike, we explored the pioneer founded Huber Farm and Apple Orchard. Hop onto wasatchstatepark.org to reserve a spot to go apple picking on the weekends. After the hike, we recommend making a pitstop at the Heber Valley Cheese Factory to get some delicious cheese and icecream! Ending the day at Cafe Galleria in Midway for a great Italian meal was perfect. This resturant also offers alpengloabes to dine in as well, if you plan ahead and reserve one.
