Hiking - Y Mountain, Provo 10/11/25

Itinerary:
Trailhead - 7:00 am
Hike - 7:15 am - 2 pm
Directions: Y Mountain Trailhead, Provo Ut
Activity: Hike Y Mountain & East Summit spur Trail - 6.6 miles total out and back. Y Mountain gains 3,000 ft in 3 miles and is steep. Hands down everyone felt like East Summit spur was totally worth it to bag 2 peaks but mainly to get those monster 360 peak views. All Trails Trip Report.
Tips: This trail is a very steep and will be slippery if wet - shoes with traction will help a lot. Recommend rain jacket, hiking poles, gloves, layers and protection covering your backpack if it will be raining.

Cell Phone Reception - 95% of the trail
Gear: Trekking poles, Hiking pants, synthetic T-shirt, long sleeve synthetic top, long sleeve fleece, light waterproof jacket/rain jacket, thin gloves, hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, camelback or regular back pack with waist belt, 3-4 Liters water, 7-10 snacks, electrolytes, first aid kit, hiking boots/running shoes, trekking poles (optional), rain cover for backpack (optional) ; (it rains often this time of year so any other rain gear you may want
