Mt Youth - Hiking - Willow Heights Trail, Big Cottonwood Cyn 6/17/26

Sample Itinerary:

Hike - 10-1 pm

Directions: Big Cottonwood Cyn, Utah. Willow Heights Trailhead  Parking on roadside. No bathrooms.

Activity:

Hike - Willow Lake (Willow Heights) trail - 2.4 mile loop to a large pond. Trailhead is marked by large boulder with "Willow Heights" inscribed on the north side of the road. Dirt trail heads north for about 5 min then reaches a "T". Either way will take you to the lake. Right has several switch backs. Left crosses a bridge and then in about 2 in has a sharp right turn onto an old road. Follow up to lake. There is a trail that goes around the lake as well and through a nice aspen forest but the back section can get really muddy and hard to find.

Gear: 1 L water, snacks, hiking shoes, shorts/T-shirt, long sleeve, rain jacket, sunscreen, sunglasses, hat, backpack
