Banff, Canada - E-Bike Vermillion Lakes 8/1/22


Itinerary:

Bike Shop - 8 am

Ride up to Bow Valley Parkway and back 8:15 am - 10:15 am - 2 hours is best

Drive: Park in FREE 9 hr parking by Banff train station


Activity:

E-Bike Vermillion Lakes Trail-

Start at bike shop and take Bow River Trail (paved narrow path ) 300 meters north

Continue on Mt Norquay Rd (paved car road) 700 meters north (take photos at the BANFF

Turn left onto Vermillion Lakes Rd (paved car road - pass beautiful lakes with great views of

Mt Rundle and relaxing docks to rest at) 2.7 miles west

Continue west onto Legacy Trail (dirt single track with wildlife gates - close after you pass)

1.2 miles west

Continue north under the overpass onto the Bow Valley Parkway heading north (paved car

road - stop at Backswamp Viewpoint for great photo) go as far as you want and then

ride back


Gear: E-bike, helmet, running shoes, 2 waterbottles in backpack (most bikes don't have bottle holders), bike repair kit (patches, 3 bike levers, spare tube, pump - if you have them or rental company gives you one)

Black Diamond rentals - good selection, online reservations, 8 am-8pm

Adult Mt Bike $29/hr

Adult E Bike $39/2hr

Youth 16", 20" or 24” $16/2hr

Chariot (bike carrier) $19/2hr

Fat Tire Trike $59/2hr


Ultimate Banff rentals - good selection, NO reservations, 8 am-8pm

Adult Road Bike $12.25/hr

Adult E Bike $19/hr

Youth 20 or 24” $6.25/hr

Chariot (bike carrier) $12/hr

Youth Hitch bike (one wheel bike attached to back of adult bike) $5/hr
