Canyoneering - Benson Creek, Brianhead 9/7/24

Referred to as a tame, short water canyon, this beauty won't dissapoint.

Sample Itinerary: (Time in the canyon will vary)

9:00 am - Entrance Trailhead

9-2:00 pm - Run Canyon

2:00 pm - Exit Trailhead

2:30-5:30 pm - Drive Home


Directions: Benson Creek Trailhead Parking, Hwy 143, Brianhead


Activity: 

Canyoneering Benson Creek - 3CII - 2.9 mile loop. 4 rappels highest 105 ft. Small, flowing stream through canyon. Road Trip Ryan Trip Report


Gear: Rappel device with ability to lock off and add friction (ATS, Totem, Critter, Prana), locking carabiner, harness (can rent), helmet (can rent), (NO COTTON) thin liner short sleeve shirt, hiking pants, rain/windproof jacket, shoes with grip, headlamp, 2 L water, 4-6 snacks + packed lunch, backpack, first aid kit, small knife, sunscreen, sunglasses, hat

THIS IS A WATERFALL CANYON, RAIN JACKETS REQUIRED. WETSUITS ARE OPTIONAL depending on time of year.


Rentals (on your own):

- Harness: $5/day (BYU Outdoors Unltd)

- Helmet: $4/day (BYU Outdoors Unltd); $6/day (UVU Outdoor Adventure Center)
