Itinerary:

7:00 am - Carpooling

8:30 am - Trailhead

8:45 - 10:00 am - Hike

Directions: I-15 north, rt 2-15 east, 6400 S exit, left Big Cottonwood Canyon to Brighton Ski

Resort. Park at Solitude Nordic Center

Activity: Hike/Snowshoe Silver Lake Trail - 0.9 miles around Silver Lake starting at the Nordic Center. In the summer it is about 1/2 on boardwalk with fishing boat docks. Watch for alternate trails in the winter and summer that can take you off into the woods. There are many other trails you can explore as well.

Gear: (depending on weather) ski pants, synthetic T-shirt, long sleeve synthetic top, long sleeve fleece, coat, hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, gloves, camelback or regular back pack with waist belt, 2-3 Liters water, 4-6 snacks, first aid kit, waterproof boots, snowshoes (depending on weather)
