Hiking - Silver Lake Loop 7/15/21

DO THIS HIKE! Wildflowers, shade, 360 views, Jordanelle Dam, Heber, Park City views, option to take the ski chair lift down for FREE once you are at the top or go back down Silver Lake Loop. A truly great summer hike with views in Deer Valley.



Directions: Deer Valley Ski Resort, Park City. Trailhead

Activity:

Hiking Silver Lake - A 2.5 mile one way hike to Bald Mountain. Start by Sterling Express Lift. and take the Ontario Loop Trail. Wind your way through shaded Aspen groves then climb to the peak of Bald Mountain. From the top views of Jordanelle and Heber Valley. Took the free ski lift down. Bathrooms at the top of Bald Mountain. Trail Report

Lunch in Park City - We ate afterwards at Tekila Mexican Grill & Cantina. Would recommend. It was open early, 11:30am which we needed. Close to free parking. Main street outdoor dining but up above the crowds and on the shady side of the street. Table in full shade.


Cost: Parking - $20-30 per car (we split it up among the passengers)


Gear: Hiking pants, synthetic T-shirt, long sleeve synthetic top, long sleeve fleece, light waterproof jacket, hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, camelback or regular back pack with waist belt, 1-2 Liters water, 3-4 snacks, first aid kit, hiking boots/running shoes, trekking poles (optional).

Sample Itinerary:

Hike (one way up)- 9:00-12:00 pm

Lunch in Park City - 12:30 pm
