Directions - Battle Creek Falls Trailhead, Pleasant Grove
Activity -
Ice Rappelling - Hike/Microspike up 0.6 miles to the waterfall. To access the bolts for the rappels, hike the trail above the falls and look for 5 sets of bolts to the left of the trail above the falls. We love the left (looking down canyon) two rappels for beginners and the one closest to the falls for intermediates and those who don't mind getting wet. In the winter you may have snow at the top, then rock and then ice at the bottom when you near the falls. The waterfall usually becomes some variation of an "ice volcano" which you will need to step next to as you go down and on the landing zone. DON'T try and go inside the ice volcano - if you get stuck inside it could be fatal. The waterfall sprays so belayers will need waterproof jackets and we rotate them often. Microspikes needed for belayers.
