Itinerary:
10 am - Carpooling
11 am - Arrive and unload bikes
1130-2pm - Bike
Directions: Sundance Ski Resort Ticket Office, Provo Canyon
Cost: FREE with passes provided by Trip Leader. Normal cost is: full-day mountain biking lift ticket costs $50 for adults, afternoon tickets (3-5 PM) are $35 for adults and $30 for children. A single ride ticket costs $30.
Activity:
Mt Biking Sundance Resort - There are two stops on the lift - midway and the top. We will just to Midway and hit the Upper and Lower Lift Trails, Boneyard (great run for the last run because it ends in the upper parking lot).
Runs: Lower Flow, Lower Lift Line, Upper Lift Line, Sherwood Forest, Boneyard, Mountain Camp (new blue trail that intersects with Boneyard and exits at Jake’s Lift)
Tips:
When you arrive, go to the top parking lot by the new lodge. Ride your bike on the road down to the main lodge/ticket office.
No Verizon cell reception at main lodge/ticket office.
They have beautiful poppies lining the walking trail that we didn’t know about until after we left! Even just for that reason, this was a perfect time to ride Sundance.
Gear: Mt Bike with Front Suspension (hard tail) or Full Suspension, helmet, thin T-shirt, thin long-sleeve shirt, shorts or yoga pants, running shoes, elbow and knee pads (optional but encouraged), bike repair kit and hand pump (optional but encouraged), 1-2 L water or 2 water bottles, 3-4 snacks, small backpack, sunscreen, sunglasses, biking gloves
