Mt Youth - Day Trip - Meadow Hot Springs and Lava Tubes, Meadow 7/20/26

Sample Itinerary:

9-11 am - Drive to Tabernacle Hill Lava Tubes ( 1 1/2 hr)

11-12 pm - explore lava tubes and caves

12-1230 pm - lunch

1230 pm - Drive to Meadow Hot Springs ( 30 min)

1-230 pm - play in hot/warm springs

230 pm - drive home

Activity:

• Caving - Lava Tubes - Big collapsed lava tube to the south of the parking area. We like to go here first and explore. There is a smaller tunnel under the road to the tubes north of the parking area. Explore those to the west and north east of the parking area. No shade or bathrooms.

• Hot Springs - park at the south west pool. There are 3 pools. The south west pool is coolest, followed by the middle pool (which is our favorite since you can jump in and it has a "kiddie pool" area, the north pool is the hottest and prettiest but trickiest for littles as the edge is rocky.

Bathrooms - yes (pit toilet about 5 min north on dirt road before lava tubes)

Gear: 1+ L water per kid, snacks, hiking shoes, water shoes, shorts/T-shirts, sunscreen, swimming suit, towels, headlamp
