Itinerary -
(Can combine with morning Mt Biking Bar M activity)
3 pm - drive to location and receive instruction
330-7pm - rappelling
Dinner and drive home
Directions - Bar M Trails, Moab (for vehicles with 4WD, we will drive 15 min north to cliffs HERE)
NOTE - need high clearance/4WD vehicle to make it close to the cliffs. There is a dirt road heading north from the mt biking parking lot. Road is rocky. Make sure you close the gate. We stopped in a flat area before the second gate as you can get stuck in the sand. 5 min walk from there.
Rappelling -
Rappelling - bolts into a gorge with a 10 min hike out. Cliffs range from 150-170 feet with overhang. The cliffs on the north and south of the gorge are about 150 ft with moderate step down starts. The largest cliff is on the west at about 170 ft with an abrupt start and about 10 ft of face before changing to an overhang. The hike out is on the south side of the gorge about 5 min from the west rappel. Moderate hike out - no hand lines needed.
