Downhill Skiing/Snowboarding - Powder Mountain Ski Resort 2/16/24

Itinerary:

Resort - 3:30 pm

Ski (on your own) - 4:00 - 9:00 pm


Directions: Sundown Lift, Powder Mountain Ski Resort, Eden


Cost: Ski Tickets - $19/night (4-9 pm) + $5 powder mt card - one time purchase). Purchase online as tickets sell out.


Activity: Ski the Sundown Night Lift - beginner/intermediate runs. Beginner runs to the left facing uphill, blues middle, blacks to the rt generallyNo terrain park. Have to wait in line to get Powder mt card (takes about 10-15 min - base of the lift) but can reload without stopping in when you come again. Can get really cold - our goggles fogged up and were useless when temps get to the teens - may bring clear safety glasses or a spare as a backup. Cell phone reception. Bathrooms at the base. Ski patrol offices at the top of the lift and the base. Pizza available at the base - no outside food :(. Outside firepits for warming.


Ogden hot springs are still open but you are on private property and go at your own risk. Currently no parking at trailhead. (across the street from the Ogden waterfall)


Gear: Downhill skis/boots/poles or snowboard and boots, helmet, (NO COTTON) thermal top and bottom, wool socks or just not cotton socks, snow pants, long sleeve fleece, down or puffy coat, light waterproof jacket, gloves, hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, 2 snacks in your coat, packed lunch, water bottles (in car), backpack (if you want to carry stuff on the mountain)

  1. Downhill ski package - includes skis, poles, boots: $18 (UVU Outdoor Adventure Center - includes helmet); $25 (BYU Outdoors Unltd)

  2. Snowboard: $20 (UVU Outdoor adventure Center includes helmet) $25 (BYU Outdoors unltd - no helmet) Helmet - $6 (BYU Outdoors Unltd)
