Snowshoeing - Pine Forest, Payson 1/31/25

Writer: Emily HackenEmily Hacken

This is a perfect winter hike!  The trail is groomed and you could just go on groomed trail, but the top part with the snowshoes was fun and the ladies got to experience that!

Sample Itinerary:

Carpooling - 8:00 am

Hike - 9:00 am - 11:30 am

Home - 1:00 pm

Directions: Forebay Trailhead, Payson

They’ve changed the trailhead recently because of private property issues, so make sure to get the right pin for the trailhead.

Activity: Hike/Snowshoe Pine Forest - 3.6 miles round trip. It took us 3 hours with the putting the snowshoes on and off and the spikes on and off.  We also did a quiet moment of reflection at the top, which was really cool! All Trails Trip Report

Tip - We wore spikes on the bottom half of the trail where it was groomed.  Pack snowshoes and then put them on for the top part of the hike.
