Hiking - Rattlesnake Gulch 11/30/23

Updated: Jan 9

Itinerary:

Carpooling - 9:00 am

Trailhead - 10:00 am

Snowshoe/Hike - 10:15 am - 12:30 pm

Directions: Rattlesnake Gulch Trailhead, Millcreek Cyn

Cost: $5/vehicle (pay at kiosk on the way out at the bottom of the cyn)

Activities: Hike/Snowshoe Rattlesnake Gulch - 3.8 miles round trip. Many switchbacks to a beautiful view of the Salt Lake Valley from the middle of Grandeur Mountain. All Trails Trip Report

Tip: Recommend taking loop clockwise. That way the up you do with the switchbacks which is far more enjoyable, and the down you do in the canyon wash which is super steep is much better done on the down. Do go out to the spur, the Bonneville Shoreline Trail lookout over the valley. Flat and very enjoyable overlook after your incline.

fleece, light waterproof jacket, gloves, hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, camelback or

regular back pack (with space remaining to shove clothes in when you get too warm), 1

Liters water (not in hydration pack as the tubes will freeze), 3-4 snacks, WATERPROOF boots or non-waterproof boots/shoes and also rent "overshoes"
