Mt Youth - Snow Caves - Aspen Grove, Provo Canyon 3/14/25

Itinerary:

Trailhead - 4:30 pm

Build Snow Caves - 430-530 pm

Drive: Aspen Grove, Provo Canyon

Activities: 

Dig out snowcaves. Snow mounds 4x4 ft will already be built previous to activity. Youth will learn how to build thier own "Quinzee" snow cave.

Bathrooms - yes

Cell Phone Service - patchy

Gear: Snowshovel (metal and small to medium size - avlanche shovels are best - write your name on them), gaiters (optional - can rent), (NO COTTON) thermal top and bottom, wool socks or just not cotton socks, snow pants, long sleeve fleece, light waterproof jacket, gloves, hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, 1-2 Liters water, snacks, WATERPROOF boots or non-waterproof boots/shoes and also rent "overshoes", sled (optional)
