Rock Climbing - Ledgemere, Big Cottonwood Cyn 5/4/24



Sample Itinerary:

Instruction and hike - 8:00 am - 8:30 am

Climb - 8:30 am - 12:00 pm


Directions: Across the street from Ledgemere Picnic Area, Big Cottonwood Cyn (avoid picnic area fees by parking across the street)


Activity: Rock Climbing Bantam Wall Routes (far west at the end of the paved trail south of the river) - 5.6-5.9 sport routes (Lopper, Whipper, Roofer, Zipper).  Mountain Project Trip Report.

The scope is to cover the introduction to outdoor top rope (TR) rock climbing. Ropes will be set up for you and we gave instruction/review of belay technique. This clinic is suitable to any new climber or indoor climber transitioning to outdoor, or any outdoor climber wanting a review for the start of the season. Methods and techniques for this curriculum are expected to be followed by the group for the safety of everyone.
